ICAO Integrated Aeronautical Package

ICAO has established standards and recommended practices which require all contracting states to introduce a properly organised quality system. This ensures that the integrity classifications of all aeronautical data are achieved in order to assist the implementation of the ICAO CNS/ATM concept.

The eAIP.Wiz@rd has been developed to assist in automating the ICAO quality system and to support the user in the workflow process of receiving, approving, and publishing aeronautical data for AIP and charts. The AIP is published in the ICAO three part format.

Human Machine Interface

The eAIP.Wiz@rd consists of a userfriendly windows based interface for data entry, approval, and AIP generation. The windows menu structure is designed to ensure the proper workflow of all data through the entire AIP process, from raw data reception to AIP generation.

eAIP.Wiz@rd Features

The eAIP.Wiz@rd provides the user with integrated quality process management for the publishing of AIP, AIP Amendment, AIP AIRAC Amendment, AIP Supplement, AIP AIRAC Supplement, and AIC. The following are the features of the system:

• Workflow Management
• Data Management
• Change Management
• Document Generation
• Document Management

Workflow Management

The eAIP.Wiz@rd workflow ensures that the raw data received is assessed, approved and stored in a pre-determined sequence and that all actions are legally recorded. It provides tracing over the whole workflow for all actions are taken.

Data Management

Data Management consists of seven steps. These steps are derived from the workflow and consist of raw data storage, initial work package creation, specific work package creation, static data base update, distribution of relevant work packages to the map & charting system, work package approval and finally document publication.

The eAIP.Wiz@rd automates these steps and ensures the correct sequence of work is maintained.

An important part of data management is the ability to store several versions of data based upon effective dates and times. eAIP.Wiz@rd introduces this with temporal data versioning. This ensures that all document publications are correct data at the date/time of publication and application.

Change Management

The eAIP.Wiz@rd automates the collection of updated data to existing work packages. The storage, linkage, and approval of all update data is part of this process.

NOTAM Management

The eAIP.Wiz@rd provides links to all NOTAM in the NOTAM database which affect AIP contents if required.

Document Generation

The final step in the process is the generation of documents. The eAIP.Wiz@rd automatically generates these documents based on the approved working packages for each publication date

The eAIP.Wiz@rd generates a new AIP amendment or supplement by comparing published and new data. The following document formats are supported:

• Standard Generalised Markup Language (SGML)
• Extensible Markup Language (XML)
• Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
• Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF)
• Eurocontrol AIP DTD Export

Multi Language Support

The eAIP.Wiz@rd supports multi language options. The AIP can be published in any language. A two column version, which provides dual languages in separate column side by side, is also supported.

Mapping & Charting Integration

The eAIP.Wiz@rd can be combined with the eMAP.Wiz@rd for integrated ICAO Annex 4 chart publication based on the same aeronautical data.

Document Management

The eAIP.Wiz@rd allows the user to manage three documents for each AIP amendment. These three documents are:

• Current AIP
• AIP Amendment
• AIP with the Amendment

Incorporated
As additional functions the eAIP.Wiz@rd manages AIP supplements and AIC.

Conformance Statement

The eAIP.Wiz@rd is designed to assist the implementation of an ICAO Annex 15 recommended Quality System in Aeronautical Information Publication Departments of state AISs and organisations working on behalf of states to publish AIPs.

The implementation of the requirements of the Eurocontrol Static Data Procedures (SDP) is ensured. The database conforms to AIXM Edition 3.3.
